4 x 400 U/20 QT for Lynch & Casey bags new club record

Brilliant news matching the brilliant weather from Tullamore where the May Open meet took place today. Christopher Lynch made a significant contribution to the Irish U/20 4 x 400 relay team running the 3rd leg as the Irish team comfortably bettered the European U/20 qualifying time clocking a brilliant 3.10.14. Later Christopher win his 200 in a new PB of 23.17.

Grace Casey also had a fine day as she won the javelin competition with an excellent 45.64m. This is also a new Clonliffe Harriers club record as Grace bettered her existing record by over a metre.

There was also a winning performance in the discus by Eoin Sheridan as he won with a best of 50.49m.

In the sprints Craig Duffy was fastest of the Clonliffe men, in series 1, heat 1 grade finished 4th clocking a time of 10.74, in series 2 he ran precisely the same time as he finished 3rd. Leo Morgan in series 1 ran 11.04 and in the 2nd race 11.09. Keith Pike clocked 11.27 in his only race of the day and Adam Festus 11.71 and 11.68.

Leah Bergin got another race under her belt today finishing in 3rd place in heat 2 of the 400 in a time of 57.31.
