This update gives the outcome of the Clonliffe 2 Mile Grand Prix. It provides the start list for the 10 Mile Grand Prix and Club Championship on Saturday 11th October in Malahide. Also provided are details of the remaining races in this year’s GP Series.
Mick Bermingham wins the Clonliffe 2 Mile Grand Prix
The 134th running of the Clonliffe 2 Mile took place in Glasnevin on Sunday 5th October 2025. The event is sponsored by the Kavanagh Family in Glasnevin. This year’s race was held in Glasnevin in ideal weather conditions. In the Grand Prix event a competitive field of 27 runners took part.
When all the times and projections were collated the winner of the Grand Prix was Mick Bermingham in a time of 0:13:16. In second place was Maura Matthews in 0:13:50. In third place was Deirdre Fitzsimons in 0:15:11. Congratulations to all three. A special thank you to those who officiated on the day together with the Gardai, St Vincents NS and John’s Ambulance.

2 mile GP results:
10 Mile Club Championship/Grand Prix – Saturday 11th October 2025
On Saturday 11th October 20255 the Clonliffe Harriers 10 Mile Club Championship takes place in Malahide at 10:45am. The race is also part of the 2025 Grand Prix Series. The start list for the 2025 event is attached to this update. Maurice Ahern has sponsored this race now for many years and the GP Committee are grateful for his continued sponsorship.
It is worth noting that the Club 10-Mile Championship, the brainchild of the renowned Clonliffe coach and Captain Harry Cooney, was first run on April 12th, 1964, from near Murtagh’s pub on the main Belfast Road back to Morton Stadium. The winner that year was Ray Heffernan.
The winner of the Men’s race will be presented with the Ahern Cup sponsored by the Ahern Family. The winner of the ladies’ race will receive the Agathe Monks Cup sponsored by Tom Monks.
Runners are asked to check in 20 minutes prior to the start. The race commence at the same location as that used for the 2.5 miles and 5 miles.

The 2025 Clonliffe Harriers Grand Prix Series is scheduled to conclude on Saturday 22 November 2025. This will be followed by the presentation of prizes to the overall winners on Saturday 6th December 2025 at a special end of season function in the Clonliffe Club House commencing at 7pm.
