The Trim 10 Mile took place on Sunday, February 1st, coinciding with the celebration of St Brigid’s Day and the traditional first day of spring. Despite a wet and grey start to the morning, conditions improved as the race got underway, with the sun breaking through to light up the county Meath roads and provide welcome encouragement to runners.
Now firmly established as one of the highlights of the road racing calendar, the Trim 10 Mile has become a must-do event for club runners. Demand for entries is famously high, with securing a race number almost as difficult as getting a ticket to Oasis, selling out within minutes of opening. The race retains a strong club ethos, attracting runners from across Leinster and Ulster and creating a competitive yet friendly atmosphere throughout.
Almost 2,000 runners took part on the day, including a strong contingent of 26 athletes from Clonliffe Harriers, all enjoying the challenging but fair course and the excellent support along the route. Once again, the Trim 10 Mile delivered a fitting celebration of road racing, community, and the promise of a new spring season.
