Objective achieved! Round 2 of the national indoor league took place in Athlone today, the goal for both the men and women’s teams was to make it through today and qualify for the final next Saturday, February 14th, at the NIA Abbottstown. The goal was achieved as the team’s negotiated their way through to the final, the men’s team finishing in 1st and the women’s joint 5th. Both teams featured a mixture of experience and youth, indeed there were several young athletes making their senior debuts. Wins for the men by Eoin Sheridan, Craig Duffy and Mr. PB Sean Carrigg carried the day.

In the afternoon guest races Marcus Lawler won the 200 in 21.35 and was 3rd in the 60 series 2 (6.90). Christopher Lynch clocked 22.87 in the 200 and Adam Festus 23.00. Evan Storey in the 60 7.50 and 7.53. Edel Maguire 9.20 in her 60.
