Flying Rooney leads Clonliffe to Bob Heffernan win

Tonight’s big road race was the Bob Heffernan 5K in Enfield, Co Meath where Colm Rooney led the Clonliffe men’s team to a fine win. Colm Rooney in a word is extraordinary. The man is absolutely amazing, tonight he clocked a new 5K PB, a brilliant 13.48 in placing 2nd behind Donore’s John Travers (13.45) having out kicked Sean Tobin in 3rd position.

Colm led the Clonliffe team to a fine victory with PB’s recorded by many of the group, in 7th place was Ed Tottenham, now making excellent strides forward and leaving his injury woes behind, a PB of 15.04. In 13th was Conor Fitzpatrick, also clocking a PB (15.11) and in 20th Lee Duddy (15.21) also a PB. Likewise Stephen Lyons in 56th record a new PB, 16.13.

In the Masters categories Cathal McHale was 1st M40 and Tommy Griffin 3rd M55
