A relay good week for Clonliffe Juveniles!

This week was relay week with teams competing in the Even Age Relays in Lucan on Wednesday and the Uneven Age in the same venue this evening.

Tonight the U13 Boys took the Dublin Championships in fine style.  Isaac O’Neill stormed down the home straight with the batton held high as he crossed the finish line.  Channing O’Shea, Rhys Daly, Max Bamford and Rhys Jenkins are through to the National Finals.

The U13 girls team also had fine runs and took 3rd place in their heat and into the final.  Again a fantastic display of athletics from this talented team of Maeva Edo Czechowska, Millie Ryan, Muireann Spence and Adriana Madrzynska.  The girls put in a fine performance in the final finishing 5th overall in a time of 57.15.

We also had 2 U13 Development teams who had some very good runs.  Aoife Flower, Aoife Henry, Lucy Fagan and Grace Byrne ran in heat 1 finishing an impressive 3rd place.  In heat 2 Caoimhe Bushell, Fia Dunbar, Grace Keegan and Mila Webb finished their outdoor season with an enviable 2nd place finish.

In the Even Age Relays on Wednesday our U14 Boys team of Sorley Mullett, Kupa Ngadze, Rhys Daly and Isaac O’Neill finished 2nd in their  heat and a Q to the final in 53.54.  They finished 4th in the final  in a faster time of 53.02 narrowly missing a place in Nationals but showing  enormous potential for the future.

The U14 Girls team of Aliyah Riyad, Hannah Ni Mhuircheartaigh, Maeva Edo Czechowska and Ava Fagan finished 5th in their heat.

The relays brought an end to the Dublin Juvenile Championships in what was one of the most successful championships to date with 45 separate qualifications to Nationals across Track and Field Events.  On top of the qualifications there were some PBs and excellent debut performances from our newer members.

Well done to all and the very best of luck to our finalists.

Entries to the Nationals close on Wednesday 18th of June.  Strictly No Late Entries.

Again many thanks to our our parents who stood in as volunteers throughout the championships to support our athletes.  Without your time, we could not compete.  Well done to to our dedicated coaches.
