It seems to have been quiet enough on the Christmas road racing scene for Clonliffe athletes. On St Stephen’s day Ben Coughlan finished 9th in the Clonmel 4 mile in a time of 19.30, a big PB. Ben Nugent placed 25th (21.45). Also on Stephen’s day the Finn Valley 5K took place in Letterkenny where Colm O’Donaghue ran 19.28, his 1st sub- 20. At the Kilbeggan 6K Phil O’Doherty was 46th in 23.29.
Saturday, the 27th, Joseph Cooper clocked 18.39 at the Rita and Robbie 5K in Navan, Co Meath.

Sunday, the 28th, Lee Duddy took a fine 1st place in the D15 suicide awareness 5K race at the Sport Ireland, Abbottstown clocking a time of 15.56. Aaron Murray took 4th place (16.20), Anto Doran was 8th in 17.37) and Keith Lunders 18th ( 18.42). Also on Sunday Jess Gallagher ran 10.38 in the Milford 3k road race.
