Clonliffe Jingle all the way!

The big road race of the weekend was this morning’s sell-out Jingle Bells 5K, promoted by the Donore Harriers, in Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Once again very good contingent of Clonliffe athletes taking part with some 27 lining up. There was a superb run by Fintan Kerins to take 3rd place in a fine 14.22, race winner was Kevin McGrath (Bohermean AC) in a time of 14.14. Sean Carrigg was 13th (15.06) and with Ben Guiden filling 24th (15.27) the Clonliffe men’s team finished 2nd behind hosts Donore Harriers with Raheny Shamrock in 3rd position.

The Clonliffe women’s team of Helena Butterly, 10th woman (17.11), Alannah Cooley, in a PB of 17.54 and Laura Tuite, also 17.54 took 5th position. Fine performances all round with a special mention of Meadhbh O’Sullivan who PB’d at 22.12.

On Friday night, December 5, Maxime Bernard finished 36th in the Corrida D’Andeene 10k in France on the cobblestones in a time of 34.42.
