Doran wins in Bohermeen, women’s team 2nd, plus round up

Sean Doran took a fine win in the Bohermeen 5k road race in Co Meath on Friday night, June 6 in a time of 15.13. Mark McDonald was 11th (16.41), Gareth Loy 38th (17.51), next in was Dave Brady in 45th (18.10). Unfortunately it is 6 to score in this particular team event meaning an incomplete Clonliffe team. The women’s team were led home in 64th position overall, 7th woman, by Alannah Cooley (18.49). Next in was Aoife O’Reilly (19.17), Ayana O’Callaghan ran 20.19 and then Harriet Kenny (22.53), these were the scoring 4 that took 2nd place in the team competition, impressive stuff, even more so as both Ayana and Harriet are U/20 athletes. Other Clonliffe women competing Sarah Owens (22.59), Meadhbh O’Sullivan (23.04) and Paige Elliott (24.28).

Saturday, the 7th, Sean Cronin was 2nd in his 1500 at the BMC Grand Prix in Birmingham in a time of 3.47.97.
