Four years after winning the national 5 mile title at the same venue Ian Guiden this morning won the national 10k title at a cold and blustery Phoenix Park. In the light of the conditions Ian stayed with the pack for the first 7K and only made his move close to the 8K marker with an injection of pace to open a winning margin which he held until the finish line crossing in a time of 30.13 some 5 seconds clear of Galway City Harriers’ Jamie Walsh in 2nd and Jake O’Regan (St Johns AC) 3rd.
Next Clonliffe man home was Sean Doran 21st (33.07), Declan Power took 46 place and also the national M55 title (35.10) with Maxime Bernard (36.04) making up the scoring 4 on the team that placed 4th.
First home of the Clonliffe women was Aoife O’Reilly 26th in a PB of 40.52. Sarah Hawkshaw was 52nd (42.51), 57th also with a new PB was Emma Campbell (43.15) with Sarah Owens (49.40) completing the scoring four that finished in 8th position.

On Saturday Sean Doran finished in 2nd place in the BHAA Dublin City Council 6 K Rd race in St Anne’s Park in a time of 19.33. Ray Dunne was 6th, 1st M40 in a time of 21.22. Results can be accessed on bhaa.ie
