Eugenia Bateson, Juvenile captain reports: Summary report from Juvenile U11 to U19
What a weekend of Juvenile Cross Country over 2 days with U11 – U17 in Abbottstown on Sunday 9th with the U19 in Kilbeggan Racecourse on Saturday.
Full results will be made available but at this stage I can confirm that with the Uneven Age Qualifications from the weekend, will mean that the Black and Amber will be out in force at the Uneven Age National Championships which will be in Abbottstown on the 7th December.
Teams have qualified in U13 Girls and Boys, U15 Girls and Boys, U17 Boys, U19 Girls and Boys. Sophie Kernan will run in the U17 Girls with no team but no better woman!
GOLD – U13 boys with Finn McGurren finishing 3rd, Max Bamford 7th, Ruairi Donnelly Browne 10th and Conn Fore 12th finishing the scoring 4 with Maximilian Schwarzbacher in 13th and Rhys Jenkins in 15th
BRONZE For Girls U13 with Ava Fagan finishing in 12th with Muireann Spence 15th, Adrianna Madrzynska 16th, Ria Hobbs 25th, Lucy Fagan 26th and Sarah Thomas 34th making up the team
U15 Girls finished 4th and through to Nationals with Kate Gill finishing 10th and Sophia Tennant finishing 11th backed by Alex Wallace, Carragh Nighfloinn, Aliyah Riyad and Nessa Byrne
GOLD for U15 Boys with Conor Kenny finishing 4th , Braxton O’Shea 5th, Mark Kelly 6th, Seamus Phelan 13th, Hayden Kenny 14th and Sam Steenson in 16th
U17 boys finished 4th also through to Nationals with Edy Blaque finishing 8th, Joshua Chalmers 18th, Ryan Fagan 25th Dominic Vaitulionis 26th and Cormac Tynan 28th
U17 Girls had 2 ladies with Sophie Kernan finishing 9th and Ayana O’Callaghan finishing 20th
U19 girls ran with the Leinster Championships in Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath. Isla Duncan finished 5th with Hannah Walsh finishing 11th. The team finished 4th with Rachel Ardiff 16th, Paige Elliot and Rebecca Finn making up the qualifying team and through to National Championships.
SILVER for U19 Boys with Aidan Benjacar finishing 4th, Matei Usachi in 9th, Harry Bogan 16th and Rory Quill 17th , Liam Arthur and Aaron Murry making up the team.
A huge thank to Cecil and the Dublin County Board for over coming the challenges experienced over the past few weeks and putting on a very enjoyable and successful Dublin Championships.
