Lightening Bolton!

Emily Bolton was the Clonliffe Star of the day at the Belfast Milers Meet this afternoon. Last weekend in Clonmel Emily secured the EYOT qualifying time running a PB of 4.21.35, today she shattered that PB by a massive 5 seconds finishing 3rd in the women’s international 1500 as she recorded a magnificent 4.16.77. That time is the European U/20 qualifying A standard and is also a Clonliffe Harriers women’s 1500 record, breaking Jean Appleby’s record of 4.17.00 set all of 48 years ago!

Belfast proved to be very happy hunting ground today. In the 1500 A race Sean Cronin took 3rd place in a time of 3.48.11. In the B race Fintan Kerins ran a huge PB of 3.52.66 in finishing 3rd with Lorcan Benjacar in 5th place also recording a PB of 3.54.78. A PB also for young Aidan Benjacar of 4.01.70 in the 1500 C race. In the 800 E race Rory Quill took a fine victory and also ran a big PB of 1.55.71, chased all the way to line by Sean Carrigg also PBing (1.56.21). Matei Ursachi ran 8.53.96 in the 3000, in the B race a fine 3rd place for Mahad Egaal in a PB of 8.41.72. Leah Bergin had a 1st race in sometime finishing 5th in the 400 A in 57.10, likewise Keith Pike got back racing today finishing 7th in the 100 A (11.09)
