The selection committee today announced the nominees in the various categories for the 2025 Clonliffe club athletes of the year. The winners will be announced at the annual awards night on cake race night, Saturday, December 20. The cake race itself will take place at 3:45 PM on December 20th in Santry Park (entry will open tomorrow) with the celebrations getting underway at 7 PM in the clubhouse where hot food will be served followed by the prize-giving and the announcement of the club athletes of the year from 8 PM.
The nominees are:
Junior athlete of the year: Emily Bolton, Tom Breslin, Lorcan Benjacar, Sean Cronin, Christopher Lynch, Lorraine O’Connor
Master athlete of the year: Niall Allen, Edel Maguire, Colm Rooney
Women’s track and field athlete of the year: Grace Casey, Niamh Kelly, Hannah Segrave
Men’s track and field athlete of the year: Cathal Doyle, Efrem Gidey, Marcus Lawler, Eoin Sheridan
Women’s Road/cross country athlete of the year: Helena Butterly, Jess Gallagher, Niamh Kelly, Hope Saunders
Men’s road/cross country athlete of the year: Mahad Mohammed Egaal, Efrem Gidey, Colm Rooney.
Harrier of the year: winner will be announced by the club captain on the night.
