News catch up, home and away

As they say ‘better late than never’! Starting the catch up in the United States, last weekend, May 3, Kyran Maher vaulted to a new PB of 4.88m in placing 2nd at the America East NCAA Championships in Durham, New Hampshire.

Also in the US, and somewhat under the radar, Sean Kay has been getting back to racing. At the end of March he ran 29.11.68 over 10,000 at the Raleigh Relays and the couple of weeks back, April 24, at the Penn relays in Philadelphia he was 3rd in his 10,000 in a time of 29.08.79.

Yesterday in England, May 10th, Joe Fitzpatrick got his season underway at the Shropshire County Championships coming down in distance to clock a time of 49.80 over 400.

Back at home, on Friday night, May 9th, Sean Doran won the Leixlip 5k Road race in a time of 15.17 with Dave Brady 28th in 17.51.

Today, Sunday, Sean Doran took 4th place in the Sportsworld Terenure 5 mile (23.39), Gareth Loy (30.01), Robbie Burns (34.18), Alan Worrall (41.34).

Also on Sunday at the Maynooth 10k Declan Power 8th, 2nd M50, 35.25, Ger Clerkin 36.22 and Lisa Lawler 1:13.03.

In Canada Laura Tuite ran 37.45 in a 10k road race this morning.
