Well done to all the Clonliffe athletes who competed on the Irish Masters team at the European Masters track and field championships held in Madeira, Portugal from October 9-19. The Clonliffe athletes competing were Edel Maguire, Snezana Bechtina, Joe Gibbons, Philip O’Doherty, Michael Omakobia, Thomas Morgan and Stephen Harkness.
Edel Maguire was the star of the show bringing home a remarkable 7 medals: W65 high jump gold, W65 400 gold, W65 100 silver, W65 200 silver, W60 4 x 400 silver, Mixed 60 4 x 400 silver, W55 4 x 100 bronze.
Snezana Bechtina also enjoyed a magnificent championship winning W40 4 x 400 gold and W35 4 x 100 bronze.
Philip O’Doherty also brought home gold in the team W65 cross country race.
