There was a great turnout of Clonliffe athletes on the streets of Dublin for yesterday’s Dublin Marathon/national marathon. The weather conditions were pretty tough as the weather turned fairly nasty with cold rain and wind about an hour or so into the race. Despite this there was some superb performances by the clubs athletes with over 50 finishers from Clonliffe Harriers.
The Clonliffe crew were led home by the evergreen Gary O’Hanlon who finished 30th overall, 1st M50, in 2:27.49. Next finisher was Anto Doran with a PB of 2:37.05 with Alan Maher the 3rd Clonliffe finisher in 2:39.01. 1st Clonliffe woman in a time of 3:19.14 was Enya Hand, next in was Lauren McKiernan 3:20.29 with Claire Smith the 3rd woman finisher (3:29.16).
Clonliffe Dublin Marathon results:
The 2025 Dublin Marathon was won by Daniel Mesfin (USA) who scorched around in a time of 2:08.51. Winner of the national marathon was David McGlynn (Waterford AC) in 2:11.01 with the winner of the women’s national marathon, 19 year old sensation, Ava Crean of Back 2 Boston AC (2:34.11).
Also yesterday Ger Clerkin had an excellent run in the Frankfurt marathon (2:40.27).
