Five Dublin Titles taken at Day 1 of the Dublin Juvenile Indoors 

Eugenia Bateson reports: We had strong performances from every single athlete out there today.   We took 5 Dublin Championship titles and 5 additional podium places.  Well done to each athlete and coach today. 

Thanks to Filip Rzeszutko, Mark O’Neill and Padraig O Mhuircheartaigh for volunteering today to ensure that all the kids got to compete.

Podium Positions went to:

U14 Boys 60m Hurdles Champion – Isaac O’Neill 9.68

U14 Boys Walks Champion – Rhys Daly

U14 Girls 60m Hurdles Champion – Maeva Edo Czechowska 9.62

U14 Girls Walks – Aoife Fowler – Silver

U15 Girls 60m Hurdles Champion – Julia Rzeszutko 9.71

U15 Girls Walks – Nessa Byrne, 2nd, Julia Rzeszutko Bronze

U15 Boys Long Jump – Andrew Low – Silver 5.00

U17 Girls 200m – Romi Banim – Silver 58.83

U17 Boys 5K Shot – Caelan Doggett Finne Bronze 7.8

U18 Boys Shot 5K Champion – Jaheim Humphrey 15.17

Track Events:

In the U13 Boys 60m hurdles Conall Ahern finished 6th in heat 2 and Lenny Keane Flannery finished 3rd in his heat narrowly missing the final with his time of 11.16. 

In the U13 Girls 60m Hurdles, Brianna Lawless had a great run finishing 7th in heat 1 in 13.57.  Matilda Hughes finished 8th in heat 4 and Elena Szych finished 5th in Heat 5 in 12.19

In the U14 Boys 60m hurdles Isaac took 1st place in heat one in a time of 9.73 into the final.  Rhys Daly took 2nd place and automatic qualification into the final with his time of 11.60.  Channing O’Shea took 2nd place in heat 3 in time of 10.11, also automatic qualification.  The final hosted all three boys with Isaac O’Neill taking the Dublin 14 Boys title in 9.68.  Channing finished 5th in 10.29 with Rhys taking 8th in 11.42.{045389FD-1FAD-43D2-AC47-00DE76CF268E}.png

In the U14 Boys Walks Rhys Daly took the title in the 1000m walk in 7.01.67

In the U14 Girls Maeva Edo Czechowska took 2nd place and a q to the final in 10.10.  Molloy Hughes finished 5th in that heat in 11.67.  Caoimhe Bushell finished 5th in Heat 2 in 12.46, Fia Dunbar finished 4th in heat 3 in 10.85 and Muireann Spence finished 4th in heat 4 in 11.47.  Maeva had an extremely impressive win in the final to take the U14 Girls 60m Dublin Juvenile Indoor title in 9.62

In the U14 Girls Walks Aoife Fowler took the silver in 6:23.93 with Muireann Spence taking 4th in 6:54.57, Adrianna Madrzynska taking 6th in 6:59.56 and Molly Hughes took 8th in 7:11.10.

In the U15 Boys 60m Hurdles, Andrew Low finished 2nd in Heat 1 in 10.23 and automatic qualification into the final.  Andre finished 4th in the Final in 10.39

In the U15 Girls 60m Hurdles, Hannah Ni Mhuircheartaigh finished 3rd in her heat in 11.65 with Aliyah Riyad finishing 5th in 12.62.  Julia Rzeszutko was 1st in Heat 2 in 9.88 and a Q to the final.   Katelyn Duffy finished 6th in that heat in 13.93.  Bronagh Hughes finished 6th in heat 3 in 13.03

The Final saw Julia Rzeszutko have an excellent run and a strong dip at the line to take the Title in 9.71.

In the U15 Girls Walks Nessa Byrne took silver in 5:51.99, Julia Rzeszutko took the Bronze in 6:06.11 with Hannah Ni Mhuircheartaigh taking the 4th spot in 6:06.18

In the U16 Girls 200m, Rachael McCarthy took 6th place in heat 5

In the U17 Girls 200m Romi Banim took the first place in Het 3 and q to the final in 26.12.  Romi went on to a fine silver in 25.83

In the U18 Boys 200m Sam O’Reilly took the q in heat 3 in 23.35.  Sam went on to take a well-deserved bronze in the final in 23.23

Field Events:

The first medal of the day went to Jaheim Humphrey with a fine throw of 15.17 in the U18 Boys Shot 5K, his first Championship title for the club

In the U15 Boys Long Jump, Andrew Low took 2nd place with a jump of 5.00.  Andrew also took 4th place in the Boys Shot 3K with a throw of 8.28

In the U17 Boys Shot 5K, Caelan Doggett Finne took the bronze with his throw of 7.8

In the Girls U15 Long Jump Hannah Ni Mhuircheartaigh finished 8th with a jump of 4.26.  Julia Rzeszutko finished 11th with jump of 4.04.  Hannah also competed in the Shot 2.72K and finished 7th with a throw of 7.21

In the U16 Girls Shot 3K Savannah O’Neill threw a 7.24 taking 5th place

Day 2 and 3 take place next weekend.  Please put your name down to volunteer.  If you child has entered 3 or more events we would ask you to volunteer as the number we need to provide are ratio based.  Many thanks for your continued support.
