Hannah Segrave wins national 800

Day 2 of the 123.ie national indoor championships brought more success for Clonliffe athletes. Pride of place goes to Hannah Segrave who took her first national 800 title in some style winning a time of 2.07.76.

In the 60 Craig Duffy took a well deserved national bronze in a new Clonliffe Harriers club record of 6.71. In his semi-final Craig had also ran 6.71 winning that particular race and in his heat he also took 1st place in a time of 6.78. Luca Logue-Fonseca also made the 60 final where he placed 6th in a time of 6.83. In the semi-final Luca placed 3rd clocking 6.80 having earlier one his heat in a time of 6.92. Sean Harman also performed admirably, he won his heat clocking 6.94 and almost made the final having finished 4th in his semi in 6.97. Also in action the 60s today was Bilal Kanimodo who was 3rd in his heat (7.09) in his semi he was 6th in 7.12, Thomas Moran 2nd in his heat (7.61), Mark Murray 4th in his heat 7.26, Adam Festus , who also took 4th in his heat (7.22).

Fintan Kerins finished 11th in the 1500 in a time of 3.53.50. In the pole vault Andrej Dmitrenko finished in 6th position with a best of 3.40.

So in all a successful national indoors with gold for Hannah Segrave (800), silver for Marcus Lawler (200) and bronze for Craig Duffy (60), congratulations to all our athletes.
