Clonliffe Easter racing round up

The Easter weekend program started on Thursday evening with the Streets of Kilkenny 5k where Colm Rooney continuing his impressive form coming 2nd to Sean Tobin in 14:16 . Great come back run following injury by Ed Tottenham , 14th. in 15:09, and 3rd Clonliffe athlete Paul Keenan running about 20 seconds faster than he did in Tallaght 5k two weeks ago with a 16:42. 

On Good Friday the now traditional Na Fianna 5k was held in Storm Dave conditions in Glasnevin with Seamus Phelan was 6th in 18:26. 

Easter Monday saw 2 wins in the North East with Laura Tuite 18th overall and 1st Women in the Drogheda Easter 5k in a time of 18:51 with Chloe Heaslip finishing third lady in 19:41 (33rd O/A)and Ailbhe Morgan 4th in 20:06 (38th O/A).

A couple of more miles north of Drogheda in Dundalk, Malcom Kiplagat had a comprehensive victory win the Easter Dundalk 5k in 15:51, which was 34 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Ian McAweeney ran 17:26, also improving on his recent Tallaght 5k performance and finished in 13th. This is Ian’s last race for a while before he heads to London for a year. Nessa Byrne was1st U18 girl in 19:57.
