We are only now getting a chance to catch up on the track and field action after a pretty busy week to say the least! This week several of our athletes have been in action. On July 3 Cathal Doyle was 8th in the 1500 at the Meeting Stanislas Nancy, Tomblaine in France in a time of 3.33.52, that time is a frustrating two hundredths of a second outside the automatic QT for the European Championships. On Wednesday, July 8 at the Cork City Sports Cathal placed 4th in the 800 in a time of 1.47.62. Also in that race was Garrett O’Toole who finished 8th in 1.49.08. Then on Friday night at Morton Games Cathal was 4th in the Morton mile in 3.52.24. Garrett O’Toole finished 6th at Morton Games in the 800 in 1.49.50.
Unfortunately an injured Hannah Segrave came home at the tail end of the field in the 800 at Cork City Sports in 2.11.90.
On Wednesday, July 7 at the BMC gold standard meet in Trafford Sean Carrigg ran a huge 800 PB of 1.52.24 placing 6th.
A 400 PB also across the water for Christopher Lynch, today, July 12 at the Stratford speed GP of 47.54 as he took 3rd place in his race.
