Club Record and SB’s on the circuit

Just now catching up on some superb performances by Clonliffe’s top track and field athletes in late season action on the European circuit. The most notable performance was by Hannah Segrave, putting her disappointment at nationals well and truly in the rearview mirror, as she won the 800 at the Voor Mon Meeting in Leuven, Belgium on Saturday, the 16th, in a new Clonliffe Harriers club record of 2.01.68.

The following day, Sunday the 17th, national 200 champion Marcus Lawler ran a season’s best over both 100 and 200 at the Newham & Essex Beagles meet in Stratford, London. In the 200 Marcus finished 1st in a time of 20.61 (+0.7) and in the 100 10.46 (+1.00), Marcus also ran 10.44 however the wind had picked up at this stage to +2.3.

(Thumbs up from Garrett O’Toole in Germany last night)

Last night, the 20th, in Germany at the Abendsportfest, Ptungstadt Garrett O’Toole finished 7th in the 800 in a time of 1.47.09, a season’s best that places him in 2nd place, behind Cathal Doyle, on the Clonliffe Harriers all time list.
