Good weekend for Cronin & Cougle in the US

Clonliffe athletes in the USA performed very well on the NCAA Indoor circuit this weekend. Sean Cronin (La Salle) was in action in the Atlantic 10 indoor championships at Virginia Beach racing over 800 where he recorded successive PBs on successive days: in Friday’s heats he finished 4th clocking 1.52.76 to qualify for the final and in yesterday’s final was 5th running 1.51.31.

Meanwhile in the Mountain West conference at Reno, Gavin Cougle (Wyoming) also competed very well. On Thursday evening, the 26th, he took 1st place in his 200 heat running an impressive 21.18. On Friday he was 4th in the 60 (6.84) heats, but failed to progress and then in Saturday’s 200 final he clocked 21.24.
