Irwin Cup, tomorrow in Trinity

Clonliffe Harriers Grand Prix Series: Irwin Cup 6km – Trinity Sports Ground, 10:00am Saturday 8th November 2025

The first Cross Country Race in the current Grand Prix Series takes place this Saturday 8th November 2025 at 10:00am in the Trinity Sports Ground, Santry.  This is the penultimate race for the 2025 CHGP Series. There is a strong declared entry of 47 runners.

The Irwin Cup Cross County Race dates from 1932 and commemorates, Bertie Irwin, one of the finest athletes to wear the black and amber. He held national track titles for over 1 mile and 4 miles. In 1920 he became Clonliffe’s 5th Olympian making the 5000m Final in Antwerp coming 12th. 

Athletes can check in from 9:30am prior to the race. Race bibs should be worn to facilitate the race result.  

There are several athletes in contention for the top places in this year’s Series. As in previous years, the outcome will not be decided until the final race on Saturday 22 November. With two races to go the top 20 athletes are as follows:
