Tuesday, the 17th,Cathal Doyle finished in 4th position in the 1500 at the Paavo Nurmi Games, Turku, Finland in a time of 3.35.00.
At today’s UCD track and field meet, in the pre-programme Stephen Cashin was 5th in the 3000 in a time of 8.44.60. In the 100s, heat 3 Pierce Friel was 3rd in 11.15, a PB, Adam Festus also ran a PB of 11.47 in heat 2, although the wind exceeded the legal limit so it does not count as a PB.
In the main program Craig Duffy ran a PB in the 1st round 10.54 (+1.6) and in the final ran superbly to finish 3rd in 10.44, the wind reading unfortunately was +2.1. Niamh Kelly ran an 800 pb in the A race of 2.10.34. Alannah Cooley took 3 seconds off her previous best in the 1500 clocking a time of 4.45.17 as she placed 6th with Doireann Hughes 10th (5.02.34). Ben Guiden in the B 1500 finish in 4th place in a time of 4.00.63 and in the A race Fintan Kerins was 6th in 3.53.46. In the 800 B Sean Carrigg was 4th in 1.57.93.
Also on Wednesday Ben Coughlan won a 3000 in London in 8.50.
Last night Jess Gallagher back home in the Hills of Donegal was 2nd woman in the Glenswilly 5k in 19.03.
