World Athletics has confirmed the date for the 2027 Morton Games: Friday, July 9. The World Athletics Continental Tour (bronze) meet will take place at Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin and will feature the following international track and field events:
Men – 100, 400, 800, Morton mile, Albie Thomas 5000, shot put.
Women – 100, 400, 800, 1500, high jump, hammer.
In addition, there will be a full pre-programme of events to be announced in due course.
This year’s meet produced a European para-100 record by Ireland’s Orla Comerford. Three Stadium records: the fastest ever 100 run on Irish soil – 10.06 courtesy of Christian Miller (USA), a women’s hammer record set by the reigning Olympic and World champion Camryn Rogers (CAN), and an unbelievable Morton mile in which Sam Prakel (USA) set a new Stadium record and all 16 athletes ran sub four-minute miles – only the 6th time in history that this has occurred anywhere in the world.
Morton Games was also proud to have our sustainability efforts recognised by World Athletics with the meet having been awarded the ‘Athletics for a better world standard – recognised event level’
Updated mortongames.ie web site for 2027 will be coming first thing in the new year.
