Nolan wins Dublin 10k C’ship, medals for Clonliffe women, plus more

The Dublin 10k road race, incorporated into the Windmill 10k, took place at Garristown, north Co Dublin this morning. Karl Nolan took 1st place and was crowned Dublin champion in a time of 34.00. Also collecting Dublin medals: Ciara Peelo W45 silver, Mary Ketterer W50 silver, Paulette Griffin W55 silver and Anne Lyons W55 bronze. The Clonliffe senior women’s team of Ciara, Elaine McLaughlin, Aideen O’Connor and Mary Ketterer won the Dublin team bronze and likewise team bronze for the Clonliffe W35 team of Paulette Griffin, Anne Lyons, Pamela Kavanagh and Michelle Waters.

In the Windmill 5K 1st Clonliffe home was one of our up-and-coming young athletes Mark Kelly taking 3rd place in a time of 18.28, 4th place was Seamus Phelan 18.54 and 5th Cormac Tynan 19.55. Others: Peter O’Sullivan 20.45, Katie Halpin 22.46, Maurice McCrohan 23.58, Fionnuala Smith 25.33.

Also Sunday at the Newbridge 5K Stephen Lyons took 3rd place (16.19) with Eoin Keating 5th (16.48).

New Clonliffe Harrier, living in Argentina, Ian Keogh was 13th in the Fila 21k in Buenos Aires in 76.06.

Yesterday, the 18th Niall Sherlock took first in the Inish Oírr Wild Atlantic Island Run 10km at  Inisheer, Co Galway in 36:51.
