Clonliffe Harriers AC are delight to announce the 2026 Brother Schools Cross Country. This year’s event takes place once again in Trinity Sports Grounds on Santry Avenue on Wednesday, October 7 featuring both primary school and secondary school programme for boys and girls.
Clonliffe Harriers are delighted to have the support once again of Brother Ireland, who have been the loyal supporter of this event since 2009. Over the course of those 17 years the Brother schools cross country has grown in popularity from attracting some 700 athletes in 2009 to the current 1800/2000 of recent times. The expansion of the programme to include races for primary schools: 4th class, 5th class and 6th classes has provided opportunities for young athletes to come along and experience, in many cases, their first cross country races.
With a full secondary school programme, for boys and girls, for minor, junior, intermediate and senior there is full card of 14 races to look forward to.
Speaking at the launch Tony Jackson, the CEO of Brother Ireland said: ‘Brother are delighted to continue supporting the Brother Schools Cross Country races, our partnership with Clonliffe Harriers has seen literally tens of thousands of young athletes competing in this brilliant event over the best part of 20 years. Brother are proud to support the athletics community with our close Santry neighbours, Clonliffe Harriers, in providing a great sporting occasion to young school athletes from Dublin and beyond.”

The Brother schools cross country is an invitational only event. This week invitations are going to schools who supported the event in the past, if your school does not receive it’s invitation by the end of the week or indeed if your school has not taken part in the past but would like an invitation contact Clonliffe as soon as possible by email: clonliffeschoolsxc@gmail.com
