National 1500 champion Cathal Doyle took a big step forward tonight on his comeback towards full fitness after injury at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland. Only 5 days after his opening race of the season on Friday night in Poland he ran over 4 seconds faster tonight clocking 3.34.00 as he placed 5th in the 1500 at the WACT Gold meet. That time is also an Athletics Ireland B standard for the European Championships.
