It was a hugely disappointing afternoon for Cathal Doyle at the European track and field Championships 1500 heats in Birmingham today. Running in heat 1 Cathal was in the pack with 600 to go when he suffered a fall that put him completely out of the race. Although he got up and followed the field to finish the race. Although an appeal as a result of a trip was lodged by Athletics Ireland it was unsuccessful. Post race Cathal vented his frustration in an interview with RTE’s David Gillick, link here:
