National Juvenile T & F C’ships this weekend

This weekend Day 1 and Day 2 of the Juvenil Championships with day 3 on the 11th July all in Tullamore..

We will have a strong representation with 74 individuals representing the club over the 3 days plus our relay teams on the 12th July. Tullamore of course is the venue which has given us great success in the past and promises to be a successful championships again this year.

Day one will start with the 3K for U16 to U19 at 10am with U16 Braxton O’Shea and Kate Gill representing in those age groups.  Ella O’Sullivan will compete in the U17, Ayana O’Callaghan in the U18 and Isla Duncan on top form taking on the U19 championship

In the Sprints, Isaac O’Neill, Rhys Daly and Maeva Edo Czechowska will take on the U14 80m competition with eyes set on making the finals and more.  In the U17 100m Grainne Diamond Ebs will be hopeful in her first National Outdoors Event for Clonliffe while Sam O’Reilly and Romi Banim will compete in the U18 100m also both in fine form.

In field events, Hannah Ní Mhuircheartaigh will compete in the U15 Discuss with Savannah O’Neill in the U16 Discus.  Staying with the throws – in the Hammer event U14 Dylan Thompson will also take his first outdoor National Competition on as a Clonliffe athlete  while his brother Ethan Thompson will compete in the U18’s and Dylan Jones in the U19 Hammer.  In the boys Javelin, U13 Luke Stevenson will put his hard work to the test.  Nikita Karpej, Conor Tynan and Conor Phelan will represent Clonliffe well in the U18 Boys Javelin.

In the Long Jump, Channing O’Shea and Isaac O’Neill will compete in the U14 competition with Andrew Low in the U15 Long Jump.  In the Triple Jump, Hannah Ní Mhuircheartaigh will be our sole participant in the U15 event and is showing fine form.  In the High Jump, we will have 3 competitive boys in the U14 competition. Channing O’Shea, Rhys Daly and Isaac O’Neill.  Sorley Mullet will compete in the U15 Boys High Jump.

Day 2 will be a busy one with Hurdles, walks and 800m on the track.

In the U13 Boys 60mH, Lenny Keane Flannery will show good form as will Isaac O’Neill and Maeva Edo Czechowska in the U14 75mH.  Sorley Mullet and Julia Rzeszutko will compete in the U15 80mH.  Aoife Fowler will take on the U14 Walks.

In the 800m U14 we will see Finn McGurren and Ava Fagan take their first National Outdoor championship on but most definitely won’t be their last.  In the U15 Boys Daire Cronin and Luke Tracey will compete well.  U16 boys Conor Kenny and Braxton O’Shea will be no strangers to this level of competition.  U17 Girls Lucy McFetridge will compete well in her 800m as will U18 Edy Blacque and Joshua Chalmers, U19 Rachel Ardiff and Isla Duncan.  Isla Duncan will also take on her new favourite event, Steeplechase.

In day 2 Field events Jaheim Humphrey and Conor Shelvin will take on the U18 Boys Discuss. Caelan Doggett Finne will take on the U17 Boys Shot Putt.  Our dynamic trio of U16 Javelin Girls, Ava Cosgrave, Savannah O’Neill and Eleanor Fanning will represent us well in that competition.

In the U14 Long Jump, Dearbhaile Corcoran will take on her first National Championships.
