The Clonliffe Harriers women’s novice cross country team were presented with their gold medals, which only arrived in recent times, by women’s Captain Ciara O’Regan in Morton Stadium last night. The team won the national novice cross country in the Abbottstown mud on December 7 with a scoring four of Hope Saunders, Jess Gallagher, Niamh Quinn and Jenny Johnston.
A second gold medal presentation presentation was made to the winning national 5k Road championship winning team of Helena Butterly, Hope Saunders and Niamh Quinn. That title was won in last month’s race in the Phoenix Park.
The group last night also said goodbye to Lierni Zinki who has been a valued member of the group and now heads home to the Basque country. Zorte on, Lierni.
