At tonight’s 5k Road race in Bohermeen both the Clonliffe senior men and senior women put in fine shifts to take team 1st and 2nd respectively. The men’s team was led home in 4th place by Conor Fitzpatrick in a time of 15.30, next in was Karl Nolan 5th 15.45 and 1st M40, 10th and 3rd M40 was Anto Doran 16.06 and the scoring 4 was completed by Eoin Keating in 15th, 16.26 for a combined team total of 34 points well clear of Brothers Pearce in 2nd.
Interestingly the team result in the women’s race was the reverse with Brothers Pearse are taking 1st and the Clonliffe women’s team of Hope Saunders, 2nd (16.57), Chloe Heaslip 9th in a new PB of 18.54, Emma Campbell 17th (20.11) and young Caoimhe Curran 73rd (24.14) taking 2nd place.
On Friday evening Lee Maginnis was 11th (17.57) in the Long Woman 5k in Omeath Village, Co. Louth.
