Clonliffe Harriers are delighted to welcome you to this year’s Clonliffe 2 Mile and Fun Run taking place on Wednesday 6th May 2026 in Glasnevin at 7.45pm.
This year the race returns to its old stomping ground finishing at the iconic Gravediggers pub in Prospect Square, Glasnevin (D09 CF72).
You are also participating in one of Europe’s oldest races; this is the 135th running. A map of the 2 Mile course is attached. This year’s event is sold out.
The following are some final instructions in relation to the race:-
Collection of race number and tee shirt
To facilitate runners, you can collect your number and tee shirt on any of the following dates and times:
- Bank Holiday Monday – 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Runners can collect their race number and tee shirt on Monday 4th May 2026 from 5.30pm – to 6.30pm in the Clonliffe Harriers Clubhouse in Morton Stadium, Swords Road, Santry, Dublin (D09 XV30).
- Tuesday 5th May – 7pm to 8.30pm
Runners can collect their race number and tee shirt on the evening before the race Tuesday 5th May 2026, from 7pm to 8.30pm in the Clonliffe Harriers Clubhouse in Morton Stadium, Swords Road, Santry, Dublin (D09 XV30).
- Wednesday 6th May – 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Runners can also collect their number and bib on the evening of the race at St Vincent’s Boys Primary School, St Philomena’s Road Glasnevin (D11 HX78) from 6.00pm. You are advised to check-in before 7.00pm to give time to get to the race start.
Please note there are limited parking spaces at St Vincent’s Primary School so please arrive on foot.
Entrance to the school is via a side entrance namely St Philomena’s Road off the Finglas Road and adjacent to Harts Corner.
The check-in is located at the back of the school in the gym
Please arrive early to ensure an orderly distribution of race numbers.
You should call to collect your number by 7.00pm at the latest.
The check-in is a 15-minute walk from the start.
Getting to the race
We would encourage runners to avail of public transport in getting to Glasnevin. The area is well served by a number of bus routes.
Car Parking
There are parking spaces on the various roads within walking distance of the check in, race start and finish. You are reminded that many of these parking spaces are Pay and Display, so you will need to bring coins or debit cards with you for the relevant meters.
Parking spaces that are near the Check in/Race Start/Finish include:
· De Courcey Square
· Prospect Square
· Phibsborough Shopping Centre car park
· Car parking on main Finglas Road opposite the main Gate of Glasnevin Cemetery
Race start
The race starts at 7.45pm opposite the entrance to the Bon Secours Hospital (D09 YN97) and adjacent to the Met Eireann Office on Glasnevin Hill.
Race assembly point
The assembly point prior to the start of the race is outside the Tolka House Gastropub (D09 VH02) in Glasnevin. Runners will be walked the short distance from here to the start.
Running gear bag
Runners who wish can leave a small gear bag on the Green in Prospect Square adjacent to the race finish at owner’s risk. Please do not leave valuables in such bags.
Race Finish
The finish is at the Gravediggers Pub in Prospect Square, Glasnevin (D09 CF72)
Race Marshals
Members of Clonliffe Harriers who can officiate please report at 6.45 outside the Gravediggers Pub, Glasnevin
A health and safety briefing together with an allocation of duties will take place at 7.00pm at the Gravediggers.
Race sponsor
The race is sponsored by the Kavanagh family in Glasnevin. The late Eugene Kavanagh commenced sponsoring this race back in the mid 1980s. Clonliffe Harriers are very grateful to the Kavanagh family for their continuing sponsorship of this event.

Health and Safety
As this year’s race will be held entirely on public roads, Clonliffe Harriers want to ensure that all participants have an enjoyable and safe run.
Marshalls will attend at various points throughout the course.
St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance on the day.
The Gardai has been notified.
The course is a left-handed one and does not cross any major road junction.
However, the race does pass adjacent to several minor junctions on the right-hand side of the road during the first mile.
Care needs to be taken as the race reaches the main Finglas Dual Carriageway.
There is a wide pathway from this junction to Hart’s corner.
Runners should avail of this pathway.
Please take care as you approach Hart’s corner as the pathway narrows.
The race does pass three entrances to Glasnevin Cemetery (Gates 2, 3, and 4), and runners should exercise caution when approaching and passing these.
Runners should use the wide path as they pass along Glasnevin Cemetery.
