The Clonliffe middle distance athletes were very much to the fore in tonight’s Dublin graded meet in Lucan. Helena Butterly hit the front of the women’s 3000 from the gun quickly opening opening a lead on the field and ran solo for the full race distance knocking all of 8 seconds off her PB winning in a time of 10.02.12. A most impressive performance in what was one of the hottest evenings of the year.
Ben Guiden did similar in the men’s 3000 hitting the front after a couple of laps and running solo for the race distance to record an outdoor PB of 8.23.03.
In the 800s, Damien Prendergast finished 7th in grade A in a time of 1.54.20. Fintan Kerins had a fall in this race but dusted himself off and lined up in the B race which he won in 1.56.33.
In grade C was a big PB for Said Adbiwahab Muhudin as he finished in 2nd place in 2.04.67. Douglas Oliveria Teixeria was 8th in this race in 2.07.51. There was a fine win in grade D for Mohamoud Mohamed Hashi in a time of 2.08.15.
