Updates: As posted on Monday morning, Philip O’Doherty won M65 cross country team gold on Sunday with Edel Maguire winning W65 400 gold in Madeira, Portugal, at the European Masters track and field championships.
News from the championships today, Monday the 13th, is that Edel today took silver in the W65 100 final clocking a time of 14.63. Also Thomas Morgan finished 7th in the M50 100 final (12.03).
Snezana Bechtina won her W40 heat in 60.65 and in Saturday’s final was just out of the medals, 4th in an SB of 59.68.

Thursday, the 16th, Edel Maguire took two more medals today, gold and silver as she won the high jump with a best of 1.32m. Edel then took silver the 200 in a time of 30.08 , having in her semi-final ran 31.99 to take 1st place.

That makes a personal tally of medals for Edel at these championships of 4 medals, 2 golds (400 and high jump) and 2 silvers (100 and 200)
Also on Thursday Snezana Bechtina was 7th in the W40 200 having clocked a time of 26.41. In her semi-final Snezana ran 26.43 to qualify for the final having earlier in the heats finished 3rd in 26.43.
In the 10k Road Race on Thursday Stephen Harkness finished 71st (37.11).

Snezana Bechtina ran the second leg on the team in the Women’s 4x100m (W35) Final that came third and won a bronze medal. Time : 50.66
Edel Maguire ran the anchor leg on the team in the Women’s 4x100m (W55) Final that came third and won a bronze medal. Time : 56.79
Edel ran the 2nd leg on the team in the Mixed 4x400m (X60) Final that came 2nd and won a silver medal. Time : 4.20.32
Snezana ran a leg on the team in the Mixed 4x400m (X40) Final that came 4th Time : 3.28.40
