Diarmuid Doyle reports: On Saturday, 4 Clonliffe athletes travelled north to the Mary Peters stadium for the NI Masters Track and Field Championships. Conditions were warm and breezy, thankfully not as hot as earlier in the week.
Niall Allen dominated in M50 Field Events taking 4 Golds: Hammer (32.11), Shot Putt (12.48), Discus (35.20) and Weight Throw (12.58)
Joe Gibbons(M65) competed in both Discus (20.33) and Javelin (12.81) taking Bronze medals in both events.
Meanwhile on the Track, Diarmuid Doyle (M65) took Silver in both 800m and 1500m and Gold in 400m while the ever-green
George Maybury (M70) took Silver in 800m.
In a surprising turn of events, Hon. Treasurer Carl, who had Parkrun at Paisley Park that morning, was at the Stadium to audibly support the Clonliffe crew!
Unsurprisingly, travel expenses weren’t covered.
