To date, three races have now been completed in the 2026 Series. On Easter Sunday we had the Frank White 5 Miles, on Thursday 23 April the McDonald Cup 4 Miles and the most recent event was the 135th Clonliffe2 Miles.

Our next event is the McCarrick Plate 2.5miles which takes place tonight, Thursday 14 May 2026 at 8:00pm.

In this update we give the GP result of the Clonliffe2 Mile, the start list for the McCarrick Plate and the top 25 in the Grand Prix to date.

Clonliffe2 Mile

The Clonliffe2 Mile this year was successful in attracting up to 200 runners. The mid-week evening and the month of May proved a good call. Ben Guidan and Michelle Finn were the overall winners this year.

In the Grand Prix event, the winner this year is the ever-popular Anthony O’Brien. In second place is Deirdre Fitzsimons and in third is Tom Griffin. The points awarded are as follows:

  1. Anthony O’Brien – 66 points
  2. Deirdre Fitzsimons – 65 points
  3. Tom Griffin – 64 points

The sponsor of the GP prizes for the Clonliffe2 Mile is Dave Doran.

The Grand Prix Committee wants to thank all those runners who took part and those who marshaled the course and officiated at the finish. Many thanks to Dave Doran for sponsoring the GP event.

Next GP Race – McCarrick Plate

The next event in the 2026 Series is the 2.5-mile McCarrick Plate. This is a very popular race and usually attracts the largest field each year. This year is no exception with another strong entry. The race will be  run as an open handicap with competitors starting at different times.

Many thanks to the sponsor of this race Maurice McCrohan.
